Hi, I'm Ren- the person behind Sacred Shoreline
Sacred shoreline was inspired by a few things- My love for the ocean, my experience in Veterinary Medicine and Two horses: Aly and Flash
It all started during an uncertain time. I had some health issues come up and was in constant pain which caused me to be unable to work. When I’d have the energy and was able to leave the house, I’d go to the beach. I’d wander on the shore for hours and collect seaglass. The ocean brought me a lot of comfort and connection when I needed it. I then started to create necklaces with the seaglass I collected.
With a background in Emergency and Specialty Veterinary Medicine, I have seen a lot of loss. I have helped many families say goodbye to their beloved companions and its an honor that will always break my heart. It has shown me how deep the love runs between animals and their people. I know the weight of missing them- I carry it too.
That weight is what led me to create something for myself. Two horses- Aly and Flash- were there for me when I needed them most, and their love has taught me in ways I can’t put into words. I wanted a way to honor them and the love we shared. I started experimenting with making jewelry from the pieces of their tails that I had saved. I wear my pendants everyday. I’ll always carry the weight of missing them but having a piece of them with me makes the weight less heavy. They remind me of the love we shared and bring me comfort. That comfort is something I want to share with those who carry the same weight.
The Flash Fund
Flash was horse I met in 2020. She was a magical mare who I only knew for a short time. She means the world to me. Although we weren't in each others lives for long, she taught me so much. She was my stars on the darkest of nights. I love and miss her dearly.
I made this fund in her honour. The Flash Fund helps to offer pendants to those who are unable to afford full price, on a sliding scale basis.
